"Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow" - Kenny Loggins
©
An interesting album; seems like a chronology of someone's (Kenny's?) life & relationships. Not much in here for a party, though.
Track Listing:
1 - This Is It: (n)
Musically, a nice song, but lyrically a downer.
2 - Whenever I Call You 'Friend': (n)
sounds like sex without marriage (not a good theme).
3 - Footloose: (Y)
As the theme from the movie of the same name, I like to introduce it as "a song for those of you who were taught that dancing is sinful"; anyone who's seen the movie gets it right away!
4 - Heart To Heart: (n)
A possible relationship breakup? Not really a party subject.
5 - Danger Zone: (n)
Great beat, but ambiguous lyrics.
6 - Meet Me Half Way: (?)
An OK song, dealing with the repair of a relationship - but, again, not really party material.
7 - I'm Alright: (y?)
You can't hear this song without seeing the dancing gopher ("Caddyshack") - not really sure about the lyrics, though it's a good dance tune.
8 - Return To Pooh Corner: (n)
maybe for a kids' party ... then again, maybe not. (I still haven't been able to get all the way through it.)
9 - Don't Fight It: (N)
Booze & women. 'Nuff said.
10 - Forever: (N)
The title's a misnomer - it's another relationship ending. (I hate sad songs!)
11 - Conviction Of The Heart: (n)
Interesting (read: strange) intro; more troubled relationships.
12 - The Real Thing: (N!)
(No, it's not a cola song.) And their relationship isn't real, either; a divorce song.
13 - For The First Time: (y?)
Love in a positive view - could be a good slow dance song, but it still has a kind-of-sad sound.
14 - Celebrate Me Home: (?)
Fairly positive lyrics, but I still wouldn't call it a party song. Sounds like he's coming back after leaving.
15 - The Rest Of Your Life: (?)
Not really sure about this one - don't think it's a player, though.
